BUILT DIFFERENT

official notes ↗

TL;DR

  1. This includes improved meshes and materials, more realistic proportions on a new rig, expanded head and hair seeds and a much needed pass over almost everything player-related.
  2. Alongside the new base model, we’ve also:
  3. Expanded the number of heads in the game, with each head now having unique materials and additional details such as eyelashes and improved eye lighting.
  4. Reworked and expanded hairstyles and beards, using new anisotropic shaders to make hair feel more natural.
  5. Updated all clothing to work with the new rig and proportions, giving a lot of older assets a much-needed refresh and fixing some long-standing issues.
What do the tags mean?
  • Buff green = made stronger
  • Nerf red = made weaker
  • Fix yellow = bug fixed
  • New blue = added content or feature

Lines are quoted from the official notes; on cards, the › bullet and left stripe use the game's colour, not a tag; tags are auto-assigned, so check the full notes for edge cases.

Buffsmade stronger2

  • This rig essentially means creating 3p animation is now a more pleasant experience for us, and we can create higher-quality output.
  • This is simply a rebrand, there are no functional changes. If your Steam inventory value is $15 or more, you'll continue to have access to Premium Access servers exactly as before.

Nerfsmade weaker2

  • To help balance the burst damage potential, the M16A2 deals less damage per shot compared to the LR-300.
  • Lower your mouse polling rate

Fixesbug fixed2

  • Modernised the art pipeline behind the player model, making future fixes and improvements much easier to ship.
  • We're looking into a proper fix on our end. Sorry for the hassle.

Newadded content or feature3

  • New animals dying randomly happens less (it happened because of unity failing to path on some convex or concave terrain).
  • New scientists will have better and cheaper flanking (through a custom A* cost that de-incentivizes direct paths).
  • NEW WORKSHOP SKINNABLE: AUTO TURRET

POWER TRIP

  • This month we're releasing a set of features we call Player Maintained Monuments - tying together our existing monuments in new and interesting ways while pushing players to interact with each other in the process.
  • Using new Heavy Fuses, the power plant can be fired back up to unlock several new gameplay features for everyone around the island.
  • Heavy Fuses can be found as loot and must be inserted into the new special fuse boxes located at the power plant. Not everything will be unlocked all at once - some things connected to the power plant require more fuses than others to become functional.
